Our client is one of Australia’s leading commercial law firms and its Corporate & Financial Litigation and Insolvency team is consistently recognised as among the leading practices in Australia.

The practice group works with major corporations, tier one banks and other leading lenders on high profile disputes. You will enjoy an interesting mix of litigation matters with a strong focus on Banking and Corporation disputes.

Some of the work you will be assisting the team with are a wide range of corporate and financial issues involving duties and obligations under the Corporations Act, enforceability of securities, priorities, mortgages and loan agreements, banker/customer duties, trusts and fiduciary duties, breaches of directors' duties, corporate fraud, mistake/restitution and trade practices, particularly misleading and deceptive and unconscionable conduct.

The successful applicant will be involved in all stages of litigation and dispute resolution. This shall include:

•drafting court documents, briefing counsel, taking statements and preparation of affidavits;
•applications and trials, particularly applications for summary judgment, security for costs and mareva orders;
•enforcement of judgments, including orders for possession, contested bankruptcy hearings and cost assessments;
•settlement of disputes, including mediations, negotiations and arbitration, drafting settlement agreements and considering and advising on the GST consequences of out-of-court settlements.
