Job Description

For our client, a company specialising in offshore marine construction, we are currently searching to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Review, qualify, negotiate and draft contracts between Company and clients, sub-contractors, vendors and other parties.
  • Advise on points of law, drafting internal documentation and powers of attorney.
  • Prepare resolutions, forms and other corporate documents.
  • Provide litigation and discovery support for litigation.
  • Perform internal training related to compliance with applicable laws (ethics, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.).
  • Assist in drafting letters to external clients/suppliers to support contract administration for project teams.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with project teams.
  • Provide support for document control.
  • Guide, train, organize and review work provided by law firms, ensuring that the job performed is aligned with corporate needs.

Requirements 

  • Double degree - Bachelor of Laws with Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar capacity in a MNC or Laws firms
  • Legal Counselling Register
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to recognize and address legal risks, impacts and issues.
  • Proficient knowledge base in legal matters.
  • Transactional and negotiation proficiency with vendor agreements, charter agreements, subcontractor agreements and client contracts.
  • Ability to review legal documents and to qualify, edit and establish contractual relationships
  • Well versed in PC skills particularly in MS Office (Excel, Words, Powerpoint)
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel internationally.
