This leading UK international law firm is a recognized market leader in the financial services / regulatory field in Hong Kong, with prominent partners and specialists at all levels. They are currently seeking a senior associate to join their esteemed practice.
Aside from working with recognized specialists in the field, the successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to complex and challenging work, primarily non-contentious matters, as well as working for a variety of well-known clients – including international investment banks, commercial banks, private banks, find/asset managers, brokers, listed companies and their directors, bankers, traders and other parties operating in Hong Kong’s securities and futures markets.
This firm also has a market leading corporate and capital markets team in the region, which the successful candidate would also work with in relation to significant and high-profile transactions.
You will have at least five years’ post-qualification experience either with a top-tier firm, a regulator or a financial institution. A strong background in financial services and experience of working with this firm’s type of clients is needed, experience in regulatory investigations and proceedings is an advantage. For this role, experience in the field is key and the successful candidate must be a genuine expert in the financial services sector and have an excellent understanding of the Hong Kong FSR framework.
Hong Kong qualification is preferred, although other common law qualifications would also be considered.
An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin with the ability to read and write Chinese will be treated as a great advantage, if coupled with the right experience.
